Day Zero

Welcome to Wayne’s Landing

Where Friends Meet Flavor

Every good place has a landing.

A spot where people come in from different directions, pull up a chair, and stay awhile.
Where stories get told, recipes get shared, and a glass gets raised — sometimes to celebrate, sometimes just to slow things down.

That’s what Wayne’s Landing is.

This blog — and the podcast that goes with it — didn’t start because I wanted to be a “content creator.” It started because I realized something simple:

The best conversations I’ve ever had happened around food and drink.

Not on stages.
Not in boardrooms.
Not on social media.

They happened in kitchens, garages, back patios, hunting camps, dive bars, and dinner tables — with friends, neighbors, and people who have lived some life.

Why This Exists

We all have a story.

Where we came from.
Where we’ve been.
Where we’re going.
And the moments — good and bad — that shaped us along the way.

But most of those stories never get told. Or they get rushed. Or they stay locked up until it’s too late.

Wayne’s Landing is a place to slow that down.

This is about:

  • Real conversations
  • Real people
  • Real food
  • Real drinks
  • Real stories worth saving

No hot takes.
No yelling.
No filters.

Just honest talk, shared over something homemade and something poured.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog will be an extension of the podcast — and sometimes the starting point.

Here’s what lives at Wayne’s Landing:

  • Stories – reflections, guest stories, life lessons, and moments that matter
  • Recipes – handwritten, passed down, tweaked, shared, and remembered
  • Raising a Glass – bourbon, wine, cocktails, beer, or whatever fits the moment
  • Behind the Scenes – why I’m doing this, what I’m learning, and where it’s headed

Some posts will be short.
Some will go deep.
Some might just make you hungry or remind you of someone you should call.

All of them will be honest.

Why “Day Zero” Matters

This is Day Zero.

Not a launch.
Not a finish line.
Not something fully figured out.

Just the decision to start.

To create a place where friends meet flavor.
Where stories get told before they disappear.
Where food and drink are the excuse — but connection is the point.

If you’re here, you’re already part of it.

Pull up a chair.
Tell your story.
Share a recipe.
And don’t forget to raise a glass.
